Dragon’s Breath April 1 – 5

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope that Spring Break is treating you well. I am sending this a bit earlier, since I will be out of town with my family and wanted to make sure that you received the Dragon’s Breath in a timely manner. I hope that Spring Break allows you and your family a chance to create some great memories together.

Dear Parents,

We are excited to announce a spring flowers fundraiser! We will be selling a variety of flowers, plants, and gardening supplies – there are some great options for Mother’s Day gifts. Our goal is to raise $2000 for phase 2 of our DG Library refresh project, which includes STEM activities and technology resources.

Important Dates to Remember:
Fundraiser launch: Mon 01 Apr
Cheques & order forms due: Tue 23 Apr
Parent pick-up: Wed 08 May
Customers order online and pay by cheque. All order forms and cheques (payable to Devon Gardens Elementary PAC) must be returned to the school by 23 Apr.

The Grade 7 Bottle Drive will be, April 6 from 9:30-1pm. All proceeds will go to this year’s Grade 7 celebration. Please consider helping out our Grade 7s by donating your empty recyclables on April 6. Bring your empties to the lower parking lot!

 

 

 

Did you know that the North Delta Rotary and Deltassist are run food programs that directly help to feed families in our school and our neighbouring schools?

Due to this, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for to support such programs.

  • Over Spring Break members of Rotary will be dropping off donation bins to collect non-perishable food items at our school.

The food drive runs APRIL 1st– APRIL 30st.

Preferred foods are:

  • Canned Soups, canned vegetables, Kraft dinner, canned tuna, canned chicken/turkey, spaghetti noodles, canned spaghetti, boxed cereals, instant noodles, granola bars, canned beans, canned ravioli, etc.

DRAGONS’ DAY

Don’t forget that Friday, April 5 is Dragons’ Day. Students and Staff are encouraged to wear their Devon Gardens Spirit Wear or suitable Dragon themed clothing. Also, if you happen to have taken your spirit wear on vacation, I would love to see a picture.

 

 

Throwback Thursday on April the 11th. This would be a great opportunity for your kids to have some fun. Hopefully they can ask you questions around how you dressed as a kid, or how Grandma and Grandpa dressed when they were kids.
