Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for your support this first week back.

Just another reminder that as the weather is still cold and wet, please make sure that kids come dressed appropriately for the weather. Please expect that kids will go out for recess and lunch, unless there is extreme weather. Please also be reminded that we do not have the capacity to allow kids come in before our morning bell. Students are encouraged to dress warmly and if needed, find shelter in the undercover area.

 

 

SANDS, BURNSVIEW and DELVIEW INFO NIGHTS

Sands will be hosting a meeting for families of students entering Grade 8 in September 2018 on Monday, January 22nd at 6pm.

 

As mentioned last week, a second information night will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd, from 7:00-8:00 pm in the Burnsview Library, and will include an overview of the Grade 8 program including a description of courses, the course selection procedure, and extra-curricular opportunities offered at Burnsview. This evening is open to all Grade 7 parents and students interested in attending Burnsview.  Parents attending the French Immersion information evening on January 11th will also benefit from attending this evening as different material will be covered.

The Grade 8 info night for Delview is set for Wednesday, January 31st at 6:30 in the Delview library.

 

 

FRENCH IMMERSION

Brand New this year parents apply on line for French Immersion, no paper applications.  PLEASE PASS ON TO YOUR NEIGHBOURS THAT ARE INTERESTED IN FRENCH K THAT…French Immersion information and the application can be found on the District Web Site under Kindergarten Registration or French Immersion.

Early French Immersion Dead Line Feb 2, 4:00pm

Late French Immersion Parent Night (Gr. 6 and 7): 6:30pm Chalmers Feb 7

Late French Immersion Dead Line: Mar 2, 4:00pm

 

Chalmers PAC is hosting a parent information session discussing the Sexual orientation and Gender identity (SOGI) curriculum additions. Parents from all schools are welcome to attend this event on Tuesday February 6, 2018 at 6:30pm in the Chalmers gym.

 

 

 

 

PAJAMA DAY will be Wednesday January 24th.

Students are encouraged to wear Pajamas to school if they would like to participate. Please note that participating students should choose school appropriate pajamas and that students are still expected to wear appropriate footwear in case there is a fire alarm or any other circumstances that requires us to go outside. PAJAMAS BOTTOMS OR ONESIES THAT COVER FEET AND TOES MAY NOT MAKE IT EASY FOR STUDENTS TO WEAR SHOES OVER THEM, AND THEREFORE MAY NOT BE APPROPRIATE.

STUDENTS ARE STILL EXPECTED TO HAVE THE APPROPRIATE CLOTHING FOR OUTSIDE ACTIVITY FOR RECESS AND LUNCH.
