Dragon’s Breath Jan 7 – 11

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope that you are enjoying your time with you kids during the break. I also hope that you were able to create some fond memories that you look back on in years to come. We want to take a moment to thank you for your support in a number of initiatives that we took on just before we let out for our break.

DG PAC Winter Pancake Breakfast a Success

We had yummy pancakes, Christmas cheer, and a visit from a jolly Santa! We also raised $400 and a large bin of food for Deltassist – they greatly appreciated the donations. Thanks to all the families that joined us. And thank you to the parents that loaned us their tables – we really appreciated it! And finally, a big thank you to all of our volunteers for their help – we couldn’t do it without you!

We also collected nearly 800 items of food for Delta Assist. A huge thank you to our community. I know that your donations have made a difference for many families and children in Delta.

A sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of you who supported our Christmas Hamper Campaign. It was such an honour to see all the thought and care that went into the items you selected. Again, I know that your care and generosity made a difference.

We are so pleased to announce that our school has won the Electrorecycle campaign!  Please stay tuned to find out the date of when our pizza lunch for the WHOLE school will be.  As well, our school has won the $1000 to be used for a green initiative.  Thank you to all of you who donated your electronics to be recycled!
Our ECO team is hard at work and will share with classes our next green initiative for second term.

Parents of grade 6 and 7 students who were not able to make it to the Camp Jubilee info night, please see the important information package below.
Please remember, the first payment is due January 16, 2019

  • Use the designated parent parking lot across the street from the school
  • Follow the directions of crossing guards
  • Keep our school/staff parking lot clear of parent vehicles and pedestrians
  • Stress to your children that they should not hang out in our parking lot
  • Keep vehicles clear of Downs Road
  • Do not block private driveways of houses near our school
  • Encourage older students to walk to school
  • If possible, walk younger students to school
  • Drive slowly and cautiously
  • Report traffic concerns to the office

Friday, Jan 11 is Pyjama Day. Students and Staff are encouraged to participate. Please note that footed pyjamas should be avoided. Students should be able to still wear regular footwear (not slippers) in case of emergencies.
