With Halloween coming up this Wednesday, please be reminded of our Halloween Parade and costume guidelines.
Halloween Costume Parade and Costume Guidelines
Our Costume Parade will be at 9:00am on Halloween (Wednesday, Oct 31). Students are encouraged to come to school dressed in their Halloween Costume. They will have a chance to be part of the parade that goes throughout the school.
Please be reminded that…
- costumes should not be too scary
- costumes should be age appropriate
- toy weapons should be kept at home
- if possible, try to avoid masks. If masks are unavoidable, they should be used during the parade only.
- Students will want to bring an extra set of clothes for after the parade.
- Parents are welcome to attend our parade and take pictures from our school hallways.
Remember that our next PAC Meeting will be Nov 5 at 7pm in the library. Come and join us! We would love to see you there.
Please remember to pack cutlery for your child if their lunch requires it. The office does not supply cutlery. We do keep a small supply of plastic cutlery in the office for the occasional time a student is missing a spoon or fork, but we are finding that some students are regularly coming to school without the cutlery they need.
DOGS AT SCHOOL
Please be aware that we have students and adults at school that have phobias towards dogs (even the friendly dogs). We ask that if possible, families should try their best to keep dogs at home. If you are in the position where you must bring your dog with you during pick up and drop off, please keep your dog leashed and pick up after your dog.

Cobs Bread Dough Raiser Program
The PAC has signed up for a ‘Dough Raiser Program’ with COBS Bread Scott 72 Centre which enables us to raise money for our school throughout the year! Be sure to mention Devon Gardens Elementary each time you make a purchase at COBS Bread Scott 72 Centre; they will donate 5% of your purchase back to our school.
Just a reminder that as the weather gets cold and wet, please make sure that kids come dressed appropriately for the weather. Please expect that kids will go out for recess and lunch, unless there is extreme weather. Please also be reminded that we do not have the capacity to allow kids come in before our morning bell. Students are encouraged to dress warmly and if needed, find shelter in the undercover area.
