Dragon’s Breath Sept 17 – 21

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for taking the time to read this week’s Dragon’s Breath.

BBQ
PAC is hosting its annual welcome back BBQ on Thursday Sept 20th, staring at 5:00pm.

In order to make this event a success, volunteers needed. For shifts and duties available please visit link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-fYUnntkBgGshF5g-yFfmDUfnn0At0W2zU6J6hlnN-Y/edit?usp=sharing. If you are able to help out, please add your name to an available duty and timeslot.

Hope to see you all there!

Our Open House will be from 6-7 on the same night as the PAC BBQ! Please be aware that this event is not a parent-teacher interview. Parents will have an opportunity to ask more specific questions about their child and their progress later in the year. Our goal to take an opportunity meet as many parents as possible in a less formal way.

A reminder that the PAC will be running once a month hot lunches again this year. As in past years, ordering and payments is done online.

Friday, September 28th will be White Spot Hot Lunch Day.

Ordering for September’s hot lunch only, will be open until midnight September 20th.  All orders must be placed within this timeframe.

Please click the link below for further instructions.

Please remember to pack cutlery for your child if their lunch requires it. The office does not supply cutlery. We do keep a small supply of plastic cutlery in the office for the occasional time a student is missing a spoon or fork, but we are finding that some students are regularly coming to school without the cutlery they need.

Planners will be going home shortly (if not already). Please note that they will be $8.00 this year. Planners are a vital organizational tool and method of communication for teachers, students and parents. Please note that we ask that you all students use the same planner for consistency, and therefore ask that you not provide a different planner from a retail store. The price for the planners are simply to cover our cost and the school does not profit from the planners. Please have your child bring $8.00 as soon as possible to their teachers. Please note that typically the use of school planners start in grade one.

Don’t forget that Parent Connect information needs to be updated every year. Please click below for instructions.

Our Terry Fox Assembly/Run will but on Thursday, Sept 27 at 1:30pm. We are encouraging every student to bring a Twoonie For Terry. All funds will go to the Terry Fox Foundation.

DOGS AT SCHOOL

As stated last week, please be aware that we have students and adults at school that have phobias towards dogs (even the friendly dogs). We ask that if possible, families should try their best to keep dogs at home. If you are in the position where you must bring your dog with you during pick up and drop off, please keep your dog leashed and pick up after your dog.

If you haven’t already done so, please click below and read our updated Parent Handbook.
