Week at a Glance Feb 28 – Mar 4

Dear DG Families,

Early Dismissal Wednesday, March 2

A reminder of the early dismissal day on Wednesday, March 2 for parent teacher conferences (via TEAMS).  Primary students will be dismissed at 11:55 a.m. and intermediate students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m.  Please make sure you let daycare providers know of this early dismissal.

If your child’s teacher has requested an Interview (or you have requested one with them) you should have already heard from your child’s teacher regarding your interview time.  If not, please contact the teacher  directly.

Rapid Tests

Each student will be sent home a box of 5 COVID rapid tests from the BC government. These will be sent home on Thursday, March 3rd with each student. Please be on the look out for the box.

Food and Water

Water Bottles – We have noticed a lot of students coming down to the office to get a cup or a water bottle from us as they have forgotten theirs at home.  Please help us by ensuring your child brings sufficient water for the day (minimum, 1 full water bottle).

Second Term Report Cards

Second Term CSL report cards will be available for viewing through Parent Connect on Wednesday, March 9th.  An email to all parents will be sent out when the report cards are uploaded.  Should you need a paper copy of your child’s report card, please email your child’s teacher by Thursday, March 3rd.

Public Consultation – School District Draft Budget 2022/23

The Delta School District is committed to transparent budget planning and resource allocation that is directly aligned with the strategic vision, goals and objectives established by the Board. Parents/caregivers are invited to attend a Zoom session to learn more about the budget and to provide feedback on their funding priorities for the upcoming school year. It is our sincere hope that as many voices as possible will engage in this important process:

  • Tuesday, March 8, 7:30pm – 9pm: A budget public input session, where the focus will be on encouraging open discussion and gathering important feedback on the community’s priorities for the draft budget.

This session will provide an opportunity for participants to ask questions regarding the draft budget for 2022/2023.
