Dear DG Families,
Health and Safety
We know that the rise in COVID numbers is alarming for all of us. Here are some reminders of the health and safety measures that we are continuing to follow for all of us:
- Please continue to follow the daily health check for your child prior to sending him/her to school. https://dg.deltasd.bc.ca/news-events/daily-announcements/daily-health-check/. The daily health check is available in many languages.
- Thank you for ensuring that everyone is heading straight home after school and not playing on the playground.
- Our staff are still ensuring that proper hand hygiene is happening multiple times a day for their students and themselves.
- As well, we will continue to limit access inside the school to staff and students only.
- Thank you to the adults who, when on school grounds, are wearing masks.

Winter Celebration of Learning
With the COVID restrictions on gathering, we will not be able to have our traditional Christmas concert this year. Preparations for a traditional Christmas Concert generally takes a lot of instructional class time. With the uncertainty of what our complete school year will look like, our staff made the decision to cherish and preserve instructional time for learning for our students. As such, in lieu of a traditional Christmas Concert, we will be sending home a Winter Celebration of Learning video to all parents on Tuesday, December 15th (what would have originally been our Christmas concert day).
Term 1 Report Cards
Term 1 report cards will be available online on Thursday, December 10th. An email from the school will let you know when all the report cards will be uploaded.
Should you want a paper copy of the report card, please let your child’s classroom teacher know by Tuesday, December 1st.
As the last school year ended with some of our students learning remotely, there is a blurb that has been added to all the report cards.
COVID-19 has impacted student learning in a wide range of ways. Where possible, the evaluations on this report card are in relation to learning outcomes that are typical at this time of year. As always, we encourage communication with your child’s teacher about any questions regarding their learning.
Crossing Guard Schedule
Please see the schedule listed for crossing guards until December 2020.
