Dear DG Families,

Thank you to all our families who came out to our open house to meet with our staff.  It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces!  Our students were so excited to show their parents around the school and introduce them to their teachers.  Thank you to PAC executive members Varinder and Heather for making themselves available to greet parents, provide information and answer questions.

Our Terry Fox Assembly and Run will be on Thursday, Sept 26th at 1:30pm. Students are encouraged to bring a Toonie for Terry. Family members are welcome to join us for our assembly and run.  Please enter through the side gym doors.  All funds will go to support the Terry Fox Foundation.

Our grade 7 students from Mme Santos and M Lawler’s class will be leading our Terry Fox Assembly.

School photos will be taken on Friday, September 27th.  If your child is absent on September 27th, retakes have been scheduled for November 1st.

Crossing Guard Schedule

A huge thank you to our student crossing guards!  We are sharing the crossing guard schedule with parents as we know that prior arrangements need to be made at home to ensure that your child can come to school earlier or stay later after the bell.  Thank you to our crossing guard monitors for helping us!   It’s not too late to sign up.  If your child is interested in being a crossing guard this year (grades 4 – 7) please have them see Ms Tee

Another reminder to please log into parents connect to update your emergency information and complete your child’s permission forms.  Parent connect will also be the platform parents use to book parent teacher conference times which will be taking palace in October.  Parents/Guardians will be notified of when you may begin scheduling time for parent teacher conferences.

Fruits and Vegetable Program

We have started our fruits and vegetable school program where students can try a fruit or vegetable that is in season and provided to the school by the BC Agriculture.  Please ensure that you click YES to allow your child to participate in the fruit and vegetable program when you are in parent connect.
